Madan Lal Khurana was reinducted in the Bhartiya Janata Party after he tendered an unconditional apology to Lal Kishechand Advani, the party president. Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had asked the former chief minister of Delhi to tender an apology, after he went through Khurana's statements in last two months.

Adressing a press conferenec in New Delhi, party general secretary Pramod Mahajan announced the decision to reinduct Khurana into the party and restoration of his primary membership. Vajpayee's statement that Khurana's explusion from the party was unfortunate had become a sore point between Advani and Vajpayee. Advani did not take the comment kindly and refused to see Vajpayee to seek a personal explanation.

"The decision to revoke the expulsion order was taken at the meeting of the party general secretaries at Advaniji's residence," Mahajan said. Khurana's explusion and the withdrawal of the explusion order is the shortest in BJP's history.

Khurana has publically attacked Advani for making comments on Mohammad Ali Jinnah and supporting Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. He had accused Advani of becoming a dictator and said that he (Khurana) would not work under him.

On Saturday Khurana changed his stance and said that Advani was his leader.
