Security personnel went on high alert on Wednesday after two youth travelling in a car filmed the highly-guarded residence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi and sped away.

However, it turned out to be a non-issue after the car was intercepted and the youth questioned, police sources said.

At around 2.30 pm, Special Protection Group personnel deployed at 7, Race Course Road, the prime minister's residence spotted occupants of a car filming the premises, the sources said.

Before the SPG personnel could act, the vehicle sped away, creating an alarm.

A message was immediately flashed through the Police Control Room for intercepting the vehicle. The car was intercepted some distance away and the youth were found to be MBA students of an institute in New Delhi and were not aware that filming of the premises was not allowed, sources said, adding that they were allowed to go after their identity was established.

A senior police official said filming of the premises was not a crime as there was no notice informing the public that videography is banned at the prime minister's residence.
