Drawing curtains over Parliament attack case, the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed petitions including that of Delhi police seeking review of the judgement acquitting Delhi University lecturer S A R Geelani in the case. A Bench comprising Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice P P Naolekar also declined to entertain the petition of Jaish-e-Mohammed militant Mohammadd Afzal seeking review of his conviction and death sentence for Decemeber 13, 2001 attack on the Parliament.

The Bench also rejected its plea to review the acquittal of Navjot Sandhu alias Afsan Guru, wife of Shaukat and the lone woman accused in the case, whose conviction was set aside by the Delhi High Court.
The court did not find merit in the petition of Delhi Police which had listed forty grounds for review of the August four judgement. Though the apex court had absolved Geelani, it had observed there was a needle of suspicion on him regarding his role in the "diabolical act" of attacking the supreme seat of democracy but there was no direct evidence to convict him in the case.
