School students in Patna on Friday staged a demonstration in front of Patna Raj Bhavan to protest the abduction of two schoolboys from near the Governor's residence.

Most of the public schools remained closed.

Dozens of school children staged a silent protest in front of Raj Bhavan demanding safe release of Gaurav Kumar and Kishore Kunal who were kidnapped from Danapur and Janipur Police Station limits on Tuesday.

They carried placards, which demanded to  'Set free Gaurav and Kunal' and condemned the kidnapping.

Gaurav, a Class IV student of DAV School, was kidnapped when he was walking down to his home on Gola road after getting off his school bus, while Kishore Kunal, also a student of DAV school, was abducted from his house at Biranchak near Patna.

The public schools remained closed after the Bihar Public School and Children Welfare Association gave a call for closure.

But the DAV school branches remain open.

Inspector General, Patna zone, Amrik Singh Nimbram directed the officers in charge of all police stations in the city to increase surveillance during arrival and departure of students from the schools.
