A team of Bihar police arrived in Delhi on Saturday to arrest controversial Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Sadhu Yadav in connection with an assault case.

However, his whereabouts are not known, two days after he was involved in a high-voltage fracas in the Lok Sabha.

The team reached Yadav's 15-A, Janpath residence on Saturday morning only to be told that the brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad was not there.

They returned after pasting on the front gate a notice of 'proclamation requiring the appearance of the accused', which carried charges, including causing physical injury and criminal intimidation among others.

"The Parliamentarian is not here. After this advertisment, necessary court proceedings will follow," said Mahesh Singh, an inspector from Mirganj police station who led the team.

Yadav is charged under sections dealing with assault or using criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duties and for voluntarily causing hurt, among other crimes.

The notice also asked Yadav to appear before a court in Gopalganj on September 11.

Yadav, allegedly involved in several cases, hit the headlines two days back after he and JD(U) leader Prabhunath Singh came to blows in the Lok Sabha over the latter's controversial remarks.
