The Municiapal Corporation of Delhi on Friday continued with its sealing drive in Delhi taking action against 91 illegal commercial establishments.

Out of these, 46 establishments were sealed on Kotla Road starting from Pandav Nagar police station to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital falling under the Shahdara South zone.

Twenty-four units were sealed on Jhandu Singh Marg from Arjun Nagar T-point to Aurobindo Marg and on the Hansraj Gupta Marg.

Action was taken against 21 units on the Bhagwan Mahavir Marg and Maharishi Dayanand Marg in Shalimar Bagh falling under Rohini zone.

Encroachment removal action was also carried out in Kotla village, where 60 junk shops were removed and two acres of public land freed.

With Friday's action, the total number of properties sealed so far since resumption of the drive on November 8 has reached 2,361.

The civic body has meanwhile, introduced a user friendly online ad hoc registration scheme for the convenience of traders and professionals who are required to get their units registered with the MCD.

The owners or occupiers of small shops measuring not more than 20 sq mt in residential areas to trade in 24 permissible items as well as establishments, which have been permitted to continue with commercial activities for the present, can get themselves registered online through this scheme.

After the form is submitted online, an ID number would be alloted to the person, which can be quoted in all future correspondence.
