"I have brought with me the signatures that I have been collecting for last two years or so from the people of the state who want participation in the dailouge process. The number of signatures have crossed 14 lakh mark. The set would be handed over Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singhji during the meeting," Malik told rediff.com hours before the much awaited meeting.
Malik said that he would like to pose one simple question to Dr Singh whether it is unfair on the part of the people of Kashmir to ask for participation in the dialogue between India and Pakistan when the two countries are sitting together to decide the fate of Kashmiris.
"I have been told that the peace process is irreversible but why can't the Kashmiris be part of that process?" he asked.
Malik does not have high hopes from the meeting or its outcome. Asked if he would participate in the All party meet called by Dr Singh on Feburary 24 in New Delhi where he has invited all the political parties from the state to join in and speak out their minds, Malik said that he was concentrating on his one to one meeting with prime minister Dr Singh on Friday.
"Let me come out of this meeting first. Let us not talk about 24th," he said.
