"There is more to the Mahajan case than what you see on television," said Majid Memon, Sahil Zaroo's lawyer, while speaking to rediff.com. Sahil is one of those arrested in the Rahul Mahajan case.

Memon claims, "Even after Rahul Mahajan's arrest, there are many loose ends. The dubious circumstances need to be explained and the mystery uncovered."

"I will not rule out the possibility of Sahil and the other boys being used as pawns. Everything revolves around wealth and there may be a deeper conspiracy related to the purported unaccounted wealth left behind by the late Pramod Mahajan," Memon says.

Memon, who had earlier defended Sahil in another case a few months ago, was contacted by him while he was in Srinagar. Sahil wanted Memon to fly to Srinagar when he surrendered to the police but the latter asked him to contact a local lawyer.

"Mohammed Aslam Goni, his local lawyer, took him to the television studio before surrendering because he feared for Sahil's life," explained Memon.

Memon says that although he is not aware whether or not Sahil is a drug addict, he is sure that he is not a drug peddler.
