One of the two Pakistani militants arrested last week in Mysore possessed a driver's licence obtained from Chennai, police said on Friday.

Mohammed Fahad, a suspected Al Badr member who was arrested on October 27, had procured the licence from a regional transport office here under a fictitious name. A special police team from Karnataka was here recently to probe Fahad's contacts in Chennai, as it was believed that he was here in March-April this year to obtain the licence.

He stayed in a relative's house in Chennai, police said.

Fahad and another Pakistani national Mohammed Ali Hussain were arrested in an operation by Karnataka Police for allegedly plotting to attack the Vidhan Soudha in Bangalore as well as the Mettur Dam in Tamil Nadu.

Police seized arms and ammunition, explosives and mobile phones from the duo.
