The trial of Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Mohammad Shahabuddin will begin in Siwan jail on November 9.
Shahabuddin will reach Siwan on Tuesday from New Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences under tight police security, where he was taken for medical treatment.
"He will be shifted to Siwan jail soon after his arrival by Vaishali Express. He has left New Delhi on Monday night," a police official said.
Bihar Home Secretary Afzal Amanullah said Shahabuddin's trial would be conducted inside Siwan jail. Both courts of the additional sessions judge and judicial magistrate would be held inside the jail.
Amanullah said that there was no need for video conferencing as the trial would be held in the jail itself.
Shahabuddin was taken to AIIMS following Patna high court directive for medical treatment, where he was operated on last month and has recovered. His trial was delayed earlier on health grounds.
Patna high court in September ordered the Bihar government to immediately conduct the trial of Shahabuddin through video-conferencing for expeditious disposal of pending cases against him.
But the government failed to conduct it as it did not make arrangements for a trial through video-conferencing.
Shahabuddin is involved in over 40 criminal cases, including murder, abduction and possession of illegal arms.
