Yusuf Tarigami, lone legislator of the Communist Party of India Marxist in Jammu and Kashmir, who is in New Delhi to take part in the third round table conference, said that the progress made at the previous two conferences has been remarkable.
This particular round would go even ahead of the previous one, he said.
Tarigami spoke to rediff.com hours ahread of the meeting at 7, Race Course Road, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday.
"At today's meeting we would be discussing the findings of the four working groups that were set up in the last round. We have made a fairly good progress and I hope we would take it further in this particular round," he said.
In the third round, only political outfits from the state of Jammu and Kashmir have been invited to participate.
Amongst those who have already reached New Delhi are Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, former chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, his daughter and People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti, National Panthers party chief Bhim Singh and host of other political dignitaries from the state.
Kashmiri Pandits are also expected to join the discussions in good number.
Bharatiya Janata Party's state unit chief Nirmal Singh may raise the issue of a provocative speech made by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, chief of the breakaway faction of All Party Hurriyat Conference on the eve of the conference in Srinagar.
He called for complete demilitarisation of Kashmir.
The Hurriyat conference led by Mirwaiz Umer Farooq has decided not to attend the conference.
