Delhiites experienced the coldest morning of the season on Friday as minimum temperatures continued to dip.

The mercury touched 4.2 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal at this time of the year, the Met department said.

"This trend may continue for a few more days. It was mainly a clear sky today and a thin layer of mist enveloped the capital," it added.

The weatherman said the cold conditions would continue throughout the day with some mist towards the night.

The visibility recorded in the morning was around 800 m. The minimum temperature during the day is expected to remain around five degree Celsius.

The maximum recorded on Thursday was 20.5 degree Celsius, Met department said. No disturbance in air traffic has been reported due to weather conditions.

"The runway visibility is fluctuating between 2,000 m and 3,000 m and the air traffic is running normal," airport sources said.
