Bangalore police on Monday said it has seized some "high capacity" compact discs from the home of UK terror plot suspect Khafeel Ahmed, as the Karnataka government said it had "credible information" about Khafeel's involvement in the foiled attack on Glasgow airport.
With the Bangalore connection in the foiled terror strikes becoming increasingly evident, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy has convened a special security review meeting on Tuesday to discuss the available leads in investigations into the role of the three terror suspects from the city.
Kumaraswamy said police and Intelligence Wings have gathered several pieces of information while his deputy and Home Minister M P Prakash said there seems to be a "very conclusive" evidence about Khafeel's role in the terror plot.
"We have seized discs of high capacity and other material that Khafeel left behind before leaving for the UK," Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao told reporters in Bangalore.
Rao, however, refused to divulge the contents of the discs and the other material seized from Khafeel's residence.
The discs are currently being examined by the investigating team to trace whether they were linked to the UK terror plot or any other terrorist network in India.
Police are also quizzing family members, friends, associates of the three suspects -- Khafeel, Sabeel and Haneef -- but have not made any formal arrests.
Kumaraswamy said the security review meeting to be attended by the top police brass and senior officials of the home department will chalk out plans to prevent terror strikes in the state.
"I have credible information (about Khafeel's involvement)," Prakash said about the terror suspect who drove a blazing jeep into Glasgow airport.
Prakash also said the antecedents of Indian doctor Mohammed Haneef, a cousin of Khafeel, has been checked in Karnataka after he was detained by Australian police.
