India on Friday ruled out fixing a timeframe for resolving all pending problems with Pakistan, including the Jammu and Kashmir issue, under the composite dialogue framework.
"I do hope that it would be possible to carry on with the process of dialogue. But it would be difficult to give any particular timeframe by which a particular issue will be resolved," External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said during an interaction with the Japanese media in Tokyo.
"We are engaged in dialogues and discussions, trying to resolve the various problems, including the problem of Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
Asked on India-Pakistan cooperation in the counter-terrorism field, Mukherjee noted that the first round of the meeting of the India-Pakistan Anti-terrorist Action Group has taken place and have identified the areas of cooperation.
He said that Indo-Pakistan dialogues are going on under the framework of composite dialogue, covering a wide range of issues, including the resolution of the problem of Jammu and Kashmir.
"We have completed three rounds of talks and the fourth round of talks have begun," he said.
Asked on the current political crisis over the dismissal of the Pakistani Chief Justice, Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhury, Mukherji said, "It is essentially an internal affair of Pakistan. I do hope the issues will be resolved amicably."
