The Union Home Ministry is in constant touch with the state government and is closely monitoring the situation arising out of the violence following the stand-off between the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda and Sikh community, MHA sources said.
The MHA had sent two advisory to the state government last week in the wake of violence in Punjab. The Centre has sent 35 companies of paramilitary force to that state.
"There has been maximum deployment of forces. Sufficient manpower is already available with the state government to ensure law and order tomorrow," Additional Director General of Police (Law and order) Chandershekar told PTI on Monday.
As many as 3,600 paramilitary personnel have already been deployed in sensitive areas across the state after it was hit by violence, the ADGP said. He exuded confidence that the bandh would be peaceful in view of the assurance of cooperation from several Sikh organisations, including the hardliners, who had agreed to the appeal of the Akal Takhat (highest temporal seat of Sikhs) to maintain peace and communal harmony during the bandh period.
A ring of three-tier security has been thrown around the branches of the Sirsa-based sect in Punjab, including its biggest Dera in Salabatpura village in Bhatinda district.
