The Lok Sabha Privileges Committee will decide next week on modalities to be adopted to proceed on the issue of the controversial "headless chickens" remarks made by Ronen Sen, India's envoy to the United States.
The committee, headed by senior Congress MP V Kishorechandra Deo, will meet on September 13 after Speaker Somnath Chatterjee referred the issue to it following a hue and cry by members who demanded the envoy's recall, sources said.
They said the MPs, who gave notices in the matter, created a storm in Parliament a fortnight ago, would be asked to submit their evidence after which mediapersons concerned could be called. The issue of summoning Sen would be decided after the evidence was recorded, they said.
