Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani, who chose to stay away from the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh flayed the Centre for not finding an amicable solution to the problems raised by the people of Jammu.
He was addressing a Yuva Kranti Rally organised by Amit Thakar, president of Yuva Janata Dal.
He recalled how separatist forces spearheaded movement against allotment of piece of land by the state government after the Jammu and Kashmir High Court directive.
"First of all I send my greetings to all those who are participating in the Olympics," he said, adding that he was speaking to youth of Delhi on a historic day August 9-- when Mahatma Gandhi launched Quit India movement which ultimately led to India attaining freedom."
"There is a growing feeling of anti-Hindu feelings and we must fight the feeling with all our might. We have to save the nation from those elements who indulge in horse-trading to remain in power, particularly at the Centre. In the last few weeks, it was this anti-Hindu that led to unprecedented developments in Jammu," he said.
Though the PDP was initially in favour of the allotment of land. But over night things changed," he said.
"Militants took over the agitation and within no time Gulam Nabi Azad government had to change its decision to bring things under control. Jammu has been simmering for more than five weeks and no action has been taken as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of this region," he said.
