Dayanand Pandey, arrested in connection with September 29 Malegaon blast case, has alleged that the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has planted obscene material on his laptop seized by them and then released it to the media to tarnish his image before the public.

Pandey was produced before a special MCOCA court here today where he was sent to judicial custody till December 16.

Pandey has sought an inquiry into the leak of the details of the CDs, which contains data, retrieved from his laptop.

The court has directed the prosecution to file their reply by December 16.

Pandey says that the allegation that some obscene material was found in his laptop is "false" and that "in all probability planted by the police with other material to suit their case."

Pandey's application states that the ATS has falsely implicated him "in order to please their political bosses". To "create a wrong impression" about Pandey in public and so that he "does not get sympathy from the general public against the inhuman torture by the police," the police leaked the CD, claims Pandey.

Meanwhile, the court also directed the Arthur road jail authorities to hand over the custody of another accused Lt Col Prasad Purohit to the Matunga police station for investigating his role in the case of forgery registered against him.
