India will repatriate 65 Pakistani nationals, including three women, who are lodged in different jails of the country, as a goodwill gesture.

Amritsar Central jail Superintendent S P Singh told PTI here today that the repatriation through Attari joint check post near here would be made as per the directions of the Union Home Ministry.

Singh said 14 prisoners, including three women, would be set free from the central jail here and the remaining 51 were being released from jails in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi.

A mother and daughter Jobin Bai and Roshan, arrested on the charge of tampering with the expiry date of visa in May this year, were happy on hearing that they would be sent home to Pakistan tomorrow.

"I have no words to express gratitude to the Indian government as we are being released from jail", Joban Bai said.

She said she was heading for a tough time ahead with her unmarried daughter who was engaged two months before their arrival in India. "Now it depends upon the bridegroom's family whether they would accept my daughter.  Roshan is carrying the jail stigma and it may damage her future," she said.

Joban said "my husband died a few years ago and after that I brought up my children doing domestic job at the home of rich people in Karachi. My one son who is still at home in Pakistan was studying in a high school when I left Pakistan with my young daughter to India. I don't know about his fate as I have not received any letter from him in  the jail."
