According to the office of Superintendent of Police (Araria), two suspected vehicle lifters were beaten to death by angry villagers in Haripur Kala near Yasodapatti Chowk under Bhargam block, approximately 40 km from Araria, late on Friday night.

The villagers caught them when they tried to flee after stealing a two-wheeler and beat them up fatally, police said.

An FIR was lodged against unidentified persons with the Bhargama police station in the district, police said, adding that investigations were on. The deceased were identified as Vinod Yadav of Mirjapur and Harilal Yadav of Bhaughi village in Araria.
