A scuffle broke out between at least 40 accused, allegedly involved in the 7/11 serial train bomb blasts, Malegaon blast and arms and ammunition seizure case of Aurangabad, and Arthur Road jail authorities while they were being transferred to prisons  in Maharashtra.

Defence advocate Shahid Azmi said the accused were being transferred to Nagpur, Ratnagiri and Kolhapur prisons last Saturday.

At that time, when some of the accused demanded to show them the court order and resisted their move, the jail authorities had to use force to transfer them, in which five prisoners sustained major injuries, while others suffered minor injuries. The accused, who have suffered major injuries were left at the Arthur Road jail, while others were transferred, he said.

Hearing the news, family members of the accused on Monday rushed to the city to meet their advocates.

Azmi said as the relatives have come down to the city, they would file an application in the court after discussing the matter with them.
