Activists of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) blew up railway tracks at Masudan station in Munger district, disrupting train movement on the Jamalpur-Malda section.

Superintendent of Railway Police (Jamalpur) Vimal Kumar on Tuesday said over 100 ultras detonated dynamites to damage a stretch of track in both up and down lines near the outer signal on Monday night.

Rail traffic was disrupted for several hours in the Jamalpur-Malda section because of the explosion, he told PTI.

The naxals later stormed the house of one Subuk Paswan at Batwari village in Munger district and killed him by slitting his throat with a sharp weapon.
