In what could be seen as a prelude to his possible entry into politics, a demand increasingly being voiced by his fans, superstar Rajnikanth on Monday said he would undertake a state-wide tour to meet them.

Meeting his fan club members at Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam in Chennai  after a long time, the actor, however, remained non-comittal to a volley of questions about his possible entry into politics, saying, "It all depends on destiny and time."

Only circumstances would decide the fate of one's success in politics, he said, but did not elaborate.

Endiran will be the biggest

Rajnikanth said he would soon come out with many welfare measures for his fans, besides looking to increase membership of his fan clubs.

"At present, I am totally focussed on my upcoming movie, Endiran (initially Robot).... the whole nation will talk about it once it is released as it is the biggest movie (produced so far)," he said.

The multi-million budget film, being directed by "Sivaji-The Boss" fame Shankar and starring Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai, is expected to be a sci-fi thriller.

No apology, but regret

Seeking to clear the air behind his "regret-turned-apology" to Kannada people over some strong remarks on the Hogenakkal issue, Rajnikanth said he had only expressed regret and not an apology.

In a televised interview in Kannada prior to the national release of his film "Kuchelan", Rajnikanth had stated that he had criticised only elements that had tried to instigate violence on the issue.

"The movie was destined to be a failure," the actor said, when asked about film's disastrous results at the box office, forcing him to compensate part of the losses incurred by the distributors.
