Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit is confident about the Congress returning to power for a third term.

In an exclusive interview to rediff.com, the Delhi chief minister said, "I begin my day as early as six in the morning and continue campaign work till late night. First thing in the morning, I decide my strategy for the day and then pass on instructions for the staff to follow."

Asked if she consulted Congress president Sonia Gandhi about campaigning, Dikshit said there was no point in bringing national leaders into state affairs.

"However, I would like to go on record that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi have been the guiding light in the overall unprecedented growth in the capital in various fields during my terms in office," she said.

Expressing her anguish over the opposition's allegations against her government, Dikshit said, "They have been claiming that my government is government of ghotalas (scams). I ask them not to make statements, but furnish proof. They are comparing the purchase of buses in the capital and comparing them with the ones bought by Chennai. That is where they stop, as they have nothing to substantiate their charges."

She also denied the charge that Delhi may not be allowed to host the Commonwealth Games as the work on the projects was behind schedule.

"There is a PIL pending in the court of law and we can do nothing about it, but the work on Games Village has not stopped. Delhi will host the games," she said, confidently.
