Many bodies still unidentified

Now that the anti-terrorist operations at the Taj, Trident, and Nariman Bhavan have ended, rediff.com spoke to hospital officials to find out the status of the dead:

JJ Hospital
Information given by Resident doctor Dr Radhakrishnan

92 bodies, mostly casualties from the attack at the Chhatrapati Shivaji railway terminus. Eighty bodies have been claimed by relatives. There are four unclaimed bodies, which have been identified and the relatives notified.

Seven bodies are unidentified, of which two are foreigners -- a man and a lady, whose nationalities are not known.

KEM Hospital
Information provided by Senior Morgue Attendant Bhandare

15 bodies, of which 13 were identified and claimed by relatives. Two Indian bodies are unidentified.

Sion Hospital
Information provided by Medical Review Officer Gapre

Eight bodies. Five bodies have been identified and claimed by relatives, One female body, nationality unknown, likely a Christian named Burkhi. Two bodies, identity unknown; a man and woman.

GT Hospital
Information provided by Resident Medical Officer Dr Manohar

Seven bodies. All identified and claimed.

Nair Hospital
Information provided by morgue attendant

One unidentified body, unclaimed.
