Fahim Ansari, one of the two Indians involved in the deadly Mumbai attacks, has moved the Mumbai High Court seeking to restrain the Federal Bureau of Investigation from interrogating him.

In his application, a copy of which is in possession of rediff.com, Ansari through his advocate, Syed Ejaz Abbas Naqvi, said there was no provision in the Code of Criminal Procedure where an accused remanded in custody in India can be interrogated by a foreign investigator.

The application said the intervention of a foreign investigator itself is an attack on the sovereign character of India's investigation into the 26/11 attack.

Ansari said the character of the FBI itself is suspicious and as per the powerful and popular  voices of neighbouring states such as Iran and China, the FBI is a catalyst of terror and war.

Alleging that he was made a scapegoat in the conspiracy, he said  there was nothing on record to connect him with the crime.

Anasir's advocate Naqvi told rediff.com that the case is likely to come up for hearing on February 16.
