The reports, quoting sources, claimed that Azhar had recently met Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi and expressed his wish to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Incidentally, Azhar's meeting with Telengana Rastra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao in February last year had sparked a similar speculation about the possibility of the former captain joining TRS.
