On Friday, Home Minister P Chidambaram will visit the 'anti-terrorist hub' established by the Army in Bengaluru, a quick reaction team to handle 26/11 Mumbai type of attacks.
This is the first visit of Chidambaram to Bangalore following a controversy erupted after Chief Minister Yeddyurappa cancelled meeting with the home minister three times.
Chidambaram initiated an action plan to establish NSG hubs in four important cities in India to tackle 26/11 types of attacks. Before the hub is established, Chidambaram also evolved a scheme to take assistance
from Indian Army.
Defence secretary Vijay Singh held a high-level meeting in New Delhi with top defence ministry and home ministry officials to facilitate easy administrative measures between Army, defence and home ministries.
It was Chidambaram who took first initiative to coordinate with the Chief of Army and Naval staff to pre-empt any 26/11 types of attacks.
