Amritraj loses doubles final

October 12, 2003 18:43 IST

Danai Udomchoke of Thailand justified his top billing in the Dharwad leg of the US$ 25,000 ATP Challenger tennis series winning the singles title at Dharwad, Karnataka on Sunday.

Udomchoke beat third seed Yeu-Tzuoo Wang of Taipei in straight sets 7-6 (7/5), 6-1.

It was a disappointing day for India's Prakash Amritraj who teamed up with Rik De Voest of South Africa and lost in the doubles final to Ratiwatana brothers of Thailand -- Sanchai and Sonchat -- after squandering two match points.

The Thai pair staged a superb comeback and notched a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win.
