Ecclestone to visit Hyderabad

September 13, 2003 23:58 IST

Formula One chief Bernie Ecclestone has accepted an invitation from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to visit Hyderabad during the Afro-Asian Games.

Naidu, who is on a three-day mission in Monza, Italy, to woo F1 racing to India, met Ecclestone, the owner of the motor racing's elite event, at the Monza racing track on the sidelines of the Italian Grand Prix on Saturday.

"The metting went off well and ended on a positive note. We are satisfied with the outcome," Naidu said after the 45-minute rendezvous with the sport's ringmaster.

Naidu said the fact that the meeting went well beyond the original 10-minute schedule was a pointer to the mission's success.
