Chinappa, Subedar in final April 01, 2004 21:22 IST Joshna Chinappa and Mekhala Subedar ensured that the women's squash final at the SAF Games would be an all-Indian affair by winning their respective semi-final matches on Thursday. Pakistan's Zaman cousins, Mansoor and Shahid, will clash in the men's finals. Chinappa required just 17 minutes to beat Maria Toor Pakay of Pakistan 9-6, 9-2, 9-0, while Subedar took five minutes more to thrash Muqaddas Ashraf of the same country 9-5, 9-5, 9-0. In the men's semi finals, both Ritwik Bhattacharya and Saurav Ghosal did put up a good fight but failed to overcome their superior opponents. In fact, Bhattacharya, who took the second game to extra points, had a chance to put Shahid Zaman under pressure but missed an easy winner when leading 8-7. Shahid won the tie 9-2, 10-8, 9-4, while Ghosal lost to Mansoor 4-9, 0-9, 1-9.
