Bhupathi-Mirnyi bow out

Top seeds Mahesh Bhupathi of India and Max Mirnyi of Belarus were ousted in the quarter-finals of the men's doubles in the ATP Masters tennis tournament in Monte Carlo, Monaco, on Thursday.

The Indo-Belarussian pair lost to seventh seeds Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez of Argentina 4-6, 6-7(5/7).

In other quarter-final matches, Britain's Tim Henman and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia and Montenegro beat Chile's Fernando Gonzalez and Nicolas Massu 7-6(7), 6-4; fourth seeds Mark Knowles of the Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada beat eight seeds Jared Palmer of the United States and Pavel Vizner of the Czech Republic 6-3, 6-4, and fifth seeds Martin Damm and Cyril Suk of the Czech Republic beat second seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Todd Woodbridge of Australia 6-3, 7-6(5).

In the semi-finals, Eltis/Rodrigues play Knowles/Nestor while Damm/Suk take on Henman/Zimonjic.
