Bindra shoots gold at Munich

Indian Olympic hope Abhinav Bindra won the gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle at the International Air Rifle and Pistol Shooting Championships held at Munich, Germany.

Moving into the final in the seventh place on Friday with a score of 597, Bindra put in a superb performance in the title round to clinch the gold with a total of 701 points.

The silver medal went to Ryan Tanoue of USA who ended on 700.8 and the bronze to Molobovahu of Romania (700).

Bindra, who has already qualified for the Athens Olympics, is among India's top medal prospects in shooting along with Anjali Vedpathak Baghwat and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.
