Rastogi goes down in final May 24, 2004 18:09 IST Promising Indian youngster Karan Rastogi and Yi Chu-Huan of Chinese Taipei lost the doubles final to Australian Open champions and world No. 1 pair Brenden Evans and Scott Oudsema of the United States 2-6, 4-6, in a junior Grade-A tournament, at the Milano Tennis Club, Italy. Earlier, Rastogi and Yi played a marathon semi-final to beat Mikhail Zverev (Germany) and Sergei Bubka (Ukraine) in a four-hour thriller 6-7 (8), 7-6 (2), 13-11. In the singles, Rastogi lost in the third round to Argentinian Juan-Martin Del Potro 6-4, 6-1. Del Potro progressed to the final, where he lost to Sebastian Rieschick of Germany 2-6, 5-7. The ITF team, in which Rastogi is the only Indian, plays the last warm-up tournament in Belgium before the French Open.
