Beckham dropped to the bench

Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham was dropped to the bench for his side's Primera Liga match against Getafe on Sunday. The England captain missed last week's 1-1 draw at home to Real Sociedad because of a rib injury but trained normally during the week.  | Also Read | | |

Beckham suffered the injury during the previous week's 1-1 draw at Barcelona, but coach Juan Ramon Lopez Caro said the midfielder had not told him about it until the Tuesday following the game.Lopez Caro chose to play Brazilian wingback Cicinho on the right and Uruguayan international Pablo Garcia in the centre of midfield in preference to Beckham for Sunday's match.
