Petrova in Qatar Open final

Second seed Nadia Petrova survived a second-set scare to beat Japan's [Images] Ai Sugiyama 6-1, 7-6 in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open on Friday. The Russian's power was too much for Sugiyama in a one-sided first set but she was made to work in the second as her opponent came within two points of leveling the match.  | Also Read | | |

Petrova held her nerve in the tiebreak, clinching it 7-2 with a clean backhand winner.
