Japan sealed a place in the quarter-finals of the AFC Asian Youth Championship after a 4-0 victory over Tajikistan at the Sree Kanteerava stadium in Bangalore on Tuesday. In the match played under floodlights, Japan led 2-0 at half-time, striker Yasuhito Umesaki scoring both the goals, in the eighth and 36th minutes. The lead was increased in the second half when midfielder Yosuke Kashiwagi netted a pass by Sho Ito in the 57th minute. The fourth goal came through a solo attempt by Masato Morishige, in the 68th minute. Earlier in the day, North Korea crushed four-time champions Iran, captain K Kum IL and Jong Kwang Min scoring a brace each. UNI
