Shokeen, Kannan go down June 06, 2007 22:05 IST Second seed Vivek Shokeen and seasoned Vijay Kannan tumbled out of the US $10,000 ITF Futures men's tennis toutnament in Dehradun on Wednesday. Shokeen conceded his second round match to Chinese Taipei's Tsung-Hua Yang, with the latter leading 5-0 in the first set, after suffering an injury. Kannan went down fighting to Brazil's [Images] Guilherme Ochiai 2-6, 6-4, 3-6. Top seed Karan Rastogi and Prakash Amritraj, last week winner at Chandigarh, cruised into the quarter-finals. Rastogi put down the feeble challenge of Vinod Sridhar, winning 6-4, 6-3, while Amritraj breezed past Sriram Balaji 6-1, 6-1. Other results (Indian unless specified): Singles, 2nd round: Sunil Kumar Sipaeya bt Kamala Kannan 7-5, 6-4; Aditya Madkekar bt Sarvar Ikramov (Uzb) 7-6(1), 6-1; Matthew Smith (GBR) bt Purav Raja 6-3, 6-4.
