Davenport pulls out of French Open May 21, 2008 12:16 IST Former world number one Lindsay Davenport [Images] has pulled out of the French Open starting on Sunday because of personal reasons, organisers said on Tuesday. The 31-year-old American, who returned to the court last September after an 11-month absence to have a baby, lies 26th in the WTA rankings. She was a French Open semi-finalist in 1998. Two other American players, Meilen Tu and Meghann Shaughnessy, have also pulled out of the claycourt Grand Slam, because of injury worries. World number six Andy Roddick [Images], who pulled out on Monday because of a shoulder injury, will be replaced in the men's draw by Argentine Guillermo Coria, a losing finalist in Paris in 2004, organisers added.
