ICICI's disbursals up 22 per cent at Rs 82 billion

ICICI achieved a 22 per cent higher disbursals of Rs 82.47 billion during the half year ended September 30, 1998 against Rs 67.37 billion of the corresponding period last year.

During the same period, ICICI's approval aggregated to Rs 211.04 billion against Rs 108.86 billion for the corresponding period of the previous year. The financial guarantees issued by ICICI during the first half year was also Rs 2.97 billion as compared to Rs 7.23 billion of the previous year.

ICICI continued to focus on the infrastructure and corporate finance segments leading to a healthy business growth. The oil and gas sector together accounted for 52 per cent and 27 per cent of the aggregate approvals and disbursals respectively.

It continued to focus on structuring treasury solutions for top rated corporate clients and these non-project assistances accounted for 29 per cent of the total approvals and 43 per cent of the total disbursals. The regular project finance assistance amounted to 19 per cent of approvals and 30 per cent of disbursals, an ICICI release said.
