MTNL posts Rs 6.75 billion net profit in H1

The board of directors of Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited at its meeting held in Bombay today considered the unaudited financial results for the first six months of the year ending September 30, 1998.

The company has shown a remarkable growth during this period by earning a revenue of Rs 26.04 billion and a net profit of Rs 6.75 billion.

The company is currently trying to instal the card-type public call offices and similar other customer-friendly services. The company has also applied for the licence to provide Internet services to their customers, an MTNL release said.
