Prabhu discharged in payment default case

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S N Thool today discharged Union Minister for Environment and Forests Suresh Prabhu in the Western India Financial services payment default case which was being tried under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

According to a complaint filed by a Bombay businessman A G Parekh, he had invested some amount in the company, in which Prabhu held the director's post. In exchange of transactions, the finance company had issued him cheque of Rs 100,000 which was dishonoured by the bank.
