Fiat India to launch taxi models of Uno

Email this report to a friend

Fiat India Automobiles Limited has decided to offer its popular Uno model in the form of taxis. The move is aimed at replacing old, polluting taxi models.

There are well over 55,000 taxis in Bombay; their emissions have been found to cause air pollution.

All Fiat Uno taxis are fitted with a 1700cc diesel, Euro-compliant engine that gives better fuel efficiency and low carbon-monoxide emissions. (Fuel consumption is directly related to CO emissions.) Visible emissions, like smoke and particulates, are also comparatively less.
