Market@December 13: Day's report

After remaining strong during the first half, the software stocks witnessed selling pressure in the second half. Satyam, Himachal and SSI were the major gainers gaining more than 3 per cent each. Other software stocks also showed a positive close.

In the non-software segment the cement stocks managed to attract strong buying. ACC, Guj Ambuja, Grasim and L&T gained smartly. SBI, Reliance and MTNL also remained strong.

Sensex up 69 points at 4288, Nifty up 23 points at 1356.
