Market@June 28: Day's report

Software stocks opened weak in the morning and remained in a narrow range for a major part of the day. Recovery was seen in few software stocks in the second half. Rolta and Wipro showed smart rally.

Meanwhile, the pivotals managed to attract huge investment buying. Stocks like HLL, ITC, MTNL, Bhel and SBI remained firm for a major part of the day. In fact ITC gained 6 per cent. The trading volumes were relatively low.

Sensex up 60 points at 4747, Nifty up 20 points at 1474.
