Market@May 30: Day's report

Market opened firm as large number of software stocks opened strong. Non-software segement also attracted huge buying. The uptrend gathered momentum during the second half as most of the software stocks hit the upper circuit of 12 per cent.

Himachal Futuristic, Global Tele, SSI and Silverline hit the 12 per cent circuit. Among the pivotals ITC gained more than 10 per cent, Reliance also remained firm for major part of the day. Trading volumes remained comparitively high.

Himachal Futuristic, Satyam Computers, Zee Tele, Global Tele and Infosys topped the volume charts accounting for 54 per cent of the total trading volume on the BSE.

Sensex up 123 points at 4312, Nifty gains 36 points at 1347.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.9 per cent
Infosys, Sterlite, Dig Equipment, HCL Info, M&M, Raymond, German Remedies, IDBI, Bharath Electronics, Arvind Mills, Parke Davis, Thamos Cook, ITC Bhadra, Sibar Soft and Bharat Forge.

Losers: Between 12 per cent and 7.9 per cent
Atcom Tech, Amtek Auto, LCC Info, Media Video and Shakti Pumps.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 5 per cent
BPCL, BFL Soft, Atn Int, ICES Soft, Hotel Leela, Websity Info and Optel Tele.
