Market@April 4: Day's report

Software stocks remained under pressure for a major part of the day. Himachal was down 12 per cent and NIIT, SSI, Global Tele were down over 7 per cent. Infosys, Satyam, Wipro, Digital Equipment and DSQ Software also lost substantially.

Among the old economy stocks, ACC managed to gain 7 per cent with huge trading volumes. Other cement counters like L&T, and Gujarat Ambuja also gained. HLL, Reliance, Bhel, RPL, and Dr Reddy remained depressed. ITC was up.

Sensex down 39 points at 3565. Nifty down 15 points at 1134.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent to 16 per cent
Himachal, Goldstone Tech, Bharat Forge, VisualSoft, Lupin Lab, Mukta Arts, Tips.

Losers: Between 5 per cent to 7.9 per cent
