Market@February 16: Day's report

Sentiment turned bearish during the second half and the software stocks witnessed strong selling pressure.

Himachal lost 10 per cent. Silverline, DSQ Software, Global, Digital and Zee also witnessed a fall of more than 5 per cent each. Other stocks too suffered badly.

Performance of old economy counters was equally bearish. Reliance and Telco were the only two counters which managed to remain strong for a major part of the day.

Bhel, Tata Power, RPL, SBI, Tisco, Grasim, BSES and ICICI witnessed a sharp fall.

Sensex down 108 points at 4330. Nifty down 36 points at 1381.

HOC, Hind Power, Uniflex Cables, World Tech, Birla Global, Mysore Cements.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Rel Capital, Himachal, Jaiprakash, DSQ Bio, Saw Pipes, Thermax, ICICI Bank, LML, Kesoram, Tips.

Losers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
Global, Digital, DSQ Software, Zee, Silverline, Pentamedia, Tata Power, IPCL, Tata Elxsi, Tata Chem, Bhel, ICICI, BSES.
