Market@March 15: Day's report

The sentiment showed a smart improvement on Thursday. A large number of tech stocks managed to hit upper circuits at 16 per cent.

SSI, Global and Aptech gained 16 per cent each. Himachal gained 12 per cent. Satyam, DSQ Software, Zee, Wipro, Silverline and Pentamedia also recorded impressive gains.

Old economy counters also attracted buying interest. Tata Power, Tata Tea, Tisco, ACC, Ranbaxy and RPL also gained smartly. The overall trading volume however remained at low levels.

Sensex up 92 points at 3817. Nifty up 22 points at 1216.

Gainers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
