Market@March 27: Day's report

The sentiment for software stocks was positive. Infosys gained 8 per cent. NIIT, Satyam, Himachal and Pentamedia also managed to record a gain of more than 4 per cent each.

Old economy counters remained mixed. The overall trading volume was reasonably higher.

Sensex up 59 points at 3695. Nifty up 16 points at 1178.

Gainers: Between 5 per cent and 7.89 per cent
